Steve Kaufmann
My Insurance carrier journey started back in 1995 when I was trained as a Group Benefits Consultant and our focus was with the Financial Institution Market (Banks and Credit Unions). In 2000, I was hired by Union Financial Services Inc as their Group Health Benefits Agent specializing in Health & Life Insurance. In 2004, my heart’s desire was to be my own boss and expand into the Property & Casualty market. I teamed up with American Family Insurance Co.
I really enjoyed the education and experience selling Auto & Home that AM FAM brought me but after 7 years I out grew their risk appetite in commercial lines. I desired to be able to consult and sell to any type of risk that was of my choosing not the underwriting department of a company. I left AM FAM in 2010 to be an independent agent representing multiple companies who gave me the ability to be more flexible and more competitive.
During the last 7 years my staff has grown to 3 fulltime Agents and 1 Customer Service Reps. We have developed relationships with over 20 top rated Insurance Carriers offering great protection and an affordable rate.
With our software platform our staff uncanny ability to save our client’s lots of money on their Auto & Home rates is a winning combo. It has been a blessing for me to have such a great staff which has allowed me to have the time to get out of the office and spend time out with my clients who become my best friends. I now have over 125 Restaurants and Sports Bars across northern and central Illinois whom I consult and help make sure all of their dreams are fully protected.
Steve brings over 20 years experience in the insurance industry. He prides himself on helping clients understand how to best protect themselves from the unforeseen and at the same time save them the most money.
Maricela Escobedo is the new bilingual agent here at Kaufmann Insurance Agency. She speaks both Spanish and English. Her goal is to do her job to the best of her ability with a smile on her face.
